Luna “Free Somebody” Inspired Makeup

My love for f(x) is limitless (no nct reference intended). To me, they are the queens of EDM and SM sleep on them too much. So while I have been waiting not-so-patiently for an OT4 comeback, I have been supporting my girls in their solo projects. I especially loved Luna’s Free Somebody solo. She is my queen and slayed that entire album like nobody else could. The colour scheme for this album was very interesting- yellow and red aren’t colours I usually associate with girl groups but for some reason it suited Luna so well.

I decided I wanted to try a makeup look incorporating these warm hues into both the eyes and the lips. Here is what I  came up with ♡

Products used:

Base

  • Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in Light Porcelin
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair
  • Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt and Contour in Ultra Fair
  • MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter in Irideccent Gold

Eyes

  • Tanya Burr Perfect Brow Palette
  • Makeup Revolution Colour Chaos Palette in Super Y, Tom Tom and TipX
  • Collection Little Mix All About The Eyes Palette in Golden Sand
  • Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Black
  • Collection Supersize Fat Lash Mascara

Lips

  • MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stain in Watermelon

I hope that I was able to capture the vibe of Free Somebody with this look. I don’t think I suit red lipstick so I tend to avoid it, but I would totally wear the eye look again. This was my first try using the Makeup Revolution Palette and I was pleasantly surprised at the pigment of the colours I used. Anyway, I hope you liked this look and if there are any other looks based of kpop music videos or idols you would like to to try, please feel free to let me know ♡

Lots of Love,

Casey xx

One year older (& subtle edgy look)

Seventeen years ago today a disappointment by the name of Casey was born. Today I was looking back at my old instagram pictures (I know, cringe) and found a picture from my birthday exactly 1 year ago. I was looking at how much I’ve changed on the outside and realised how much I’ve changed on the inside too. I’ve been exposed to such things that have changed my social views, my political stance, and my own personal happiness. I’ve not only “glowed up” physically ( if you can even call it that because I’m still ugly lol), but I’ve also improved as a person. And I feel like that is worth celebrating ♡

Aside from that reflection, I wanted to show you this look that I’ve tried out today. My outfit is a bit edgy (think 90s grunge meets tumblr emo) so I wanted a makeup look that would compliment that without being too overbearing. So here is what I came up with ♡

Products used:

Base

  • Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in Light Porcelin
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair
  • Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt and Contour in Ultra Fair
  • MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter in Irideccent Gold

Eyes

  • Tanya Burr Perfect Brow Palette
  • Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette Shades Cobbler, Caramelized, Peach Pit & Lucious
  • Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Black
  • Collection Supersize Fat Lash Mascara

Lips

  • NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Embellishment

I don’t know about you but I really love this look. It looks so effortlessly cool and really adds to the edginess I was trying to convey with my outfit without being overbearing. Today was my first time trying out a product by NYX and I really love it. NYX was never available where I live but my local Boots just brought in a huge NYX counter so I felt the need to go out shopping! If a haul is something you’d be interested in, I could totally do one. As for this look, please feel free to let me know what you think- I love to get feedback off all kinds ♡

Lots of Love,

Casey xx

Sorn CLC ‘Hobgoblin’ Inspired Makeup

CLC have stepped up another level. When I first discovered them, they were small sweet girls who wore matching outfits and sung about Pepe (which I at first thought was about the frog but apparently not.) But they took a right turn from Sugar Street down towards Sexy Bad Ass Lane. I was shook. The girls in the ‘Hobgoblin’ music video were so effortlessly cool and pretty and I was particularly fascinated with Sorn’s look. It’s quite uncommon in kpop to have such a bold lip- her look seems to be almost inspired by the Instagram “baddie” trend.

Queen Sorn

As you can see, it’s not a typical kpop look and that’s what really appealed to me as a westerner, as it is a look i could wear in my own country. So here is the final look ♡

Products used:

Base

  • Its Skin Babyface BB Cream in Silky
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair
  • Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt and Contour in Ultra Fair

Eyes

  • Tanya Burr Perfect Brow Palette
  • Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette Shades Cobbler and Lucious
  • Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Black
  • Collection Supersize Fat Lash Mascara

Lips

  • Makeup Revolution Iconic Matte Revolution Lipstick in Members Club

I’m nowhere near as pretty as Sorn but I’m kind of in love with this look. It’s very edgy and cool (despite me being far from cool!) If there are any other idol looks that you would like me to recreate please feel free to let me know ♡

Lots of Love,

WJSN Secret Inspired Look

Sweet, cute, pretty and space. That’s what I think of when I hear WJSN. They are a group which I only discovered a few months ago but I already have fallen deep in love with their cute and ethereal style. For me, Secret is my favourite music video: the colours are just so pretty. So I decided to attempt a makeup look based off this music video. Using this colour scheme:

I mainly attempted to bring the colour into the eyes but also to hint at the lips too.

So here is the final look ♡

Products used:

Base

  • Its Skin Babyface BB Cream in Silky
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair
  • Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt and Contour in Ultra Fair
  • Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Golden Sugar

Eyes

  • Tanya Burr Perfect Brow Palette
  • Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette Shades Nectar, Candid Peach and Just Peachy
  • Makeup Revolution Girl Panic Palette Shade Panic on the Street
  • Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Black
  • Collection Longer Lash Lengthening Mascara

Lips

  • MUA Matte Lipstick in Peachy Keen
  • Collection Moisturising Lip Butter in Vintage Rose

I hope you like this look as much as I do. It’s perfect for spring and summer and I kinda feel like it captures the essence of WJSN. If there are any music videos you would like to to do a look based off next, feel free to let me know ♡

Welcome

Hello! My name is Casey and I am a student currently living in Northern Ireland. My interests include kpop and makeup, so I thought why not combine the two and start this blog?

My love for kpop began in late 2013. My friend came into school and excitedly brought out her Blackberry Curve (which were all the range back then) to show me this “new Korean boyband” she found. She told me how amazing she thought they were, and about how she had a crush on “the guy with the long hair” and how they had a song called Lucifer. My edgy 13 year old self decided to look up said group, and now 4 years later, I am deeper than ever into the kpop scene. And I still love SHINee of course!

My love for makeup really began in late 2012. I remember getting this one off brand makeup kit from Argos for Christmas from a family member. It had more eye shadows and lip colours than I could ever dream of! My 12 year old eyes lit up whilst I experimented with makeup on the weekends- I would change my look so often it was unreal: One week, I would say that dark “smokey” eyes (aka panda eyes when i look back) were my favourite, then the next I would say I love fuchsia pink lipstick. I was a mess! However years of playing around with makeup has been well worth it and I still love experimenting with new looks (I’m just better at it these days!)

So what do I plan to do with this blog? Well, I hope to bring you kpop music video and idol inspired makeup looks, tutorials, and reviews of korean and kpop related beauty products.

I hope you will enjoy this little blog and I hope enjoy writing it.

Lots of love,

Casey x
